Pakistani diaspora in Oman playing due role in country’s prosperity: NA Speaker

May 11, 2023 (MLN): Pakistani diaspora in Oman playing a key role for socio-economic development of country, Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf stated on Wednesday during a meeting with Deputy Chairman State Council of Oman Sheikh Dr. Al-Khattab bin Ghalib bin Ali Al-Hinai. 

The Oman Parliamentary delegation is on an official visit to Pakistan to attend an International constitutional convention organized by the National Assembly Secretariat in connection with the Golden Jubilee celebration of the Constitution, said a press release issued on the same day. 

Speaker appreciated the Oman people and government for hosting a large number of Pakistani workers gracefully. 

He also cherished Oman’s participation in golden jubilee celebrations of the Constitution. 

While discussing the nature of friendly ties between the two sides, Speaker said, "Pakistan attaches high importance to its fraternal ties with Oman. The bilateral relations are historical, deep-rooted, and based on commonalities of faith, culture, and traditions." 

He also highlighted Oman's role in strengthening peace and stability in the region. 

Dr. Al-Khattab said that Oman considers Pakistan as its brother. 

He also stressed the need to enhance parliamentary contacts via Parliamentary Friendship Group to explore avenues of cooperation in diverse sector particularly climate change
