Pakistan, UAE reaffirm commitment with MoUs

February 28, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation, stating that the Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) signed during the visit of Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed reflected the trust and enduring relations between the two nations.

The commitment was reiterated during a meeting between President Asif Ali Zardari and the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed, at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

Welcoming the Crown Prince, President Zardari highlighted the long-standing cultural and people-to-people ties between Pakistan and the UAE, emphasizing the need to pass on this legacy to future generations.

He appreciated the UAE’s remarkable development and acknowledged its unwavering support and cooperation in various sectors, according to the press release.

The President also stressed the importance of fostering closer economic and trade relations and invited UAE investors to explore new opportunities in Pakistan’s emerging sectors.

His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed reiterated the UAE’s commitment to strengthening its collaboration with Pakistan.

The meeting was attended by Chairman Pakistan People’s Party, Mr. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, First Lady/MNA, Ms. Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, and senior government officials.

Later, in recognition of his contributions to Pakistan’s economic and trade relations, President Zardari conferred the award of Nishan-i-Pakistan upon Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan during a special investiture ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

Sheikh Khaled has played a pivotal role in enhancing investment cooperation between the two countries, facilitating significant initiatives in infrastructure, energy, healthcare, and technology, contributing to Pakistan’s socio-economic progress.
