Pakistan, Turkmenistan vow to enhance collaboration in key areas

June 02, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and Turkmenistan reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation in diverse sectors during a high-level meeting between Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani and Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuhamedow.

The Chairman Senate, currently on an official visit to Turkmenistan along with a delegation of senators, exchanged views with the Turkmen President on matters of mutual interest and collaboration in multiple areas.

Chairman Senate conveyed the greetings of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, along with his wishes for the welfare of the Turkmen people.

He was warmly welcomed by the President of Turkmenistan, who reciprocated with best wishes for Pakistan's leadership, as per the press release.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedow expressed confidence that the visit would be successful and would stimulate the development of parliamentary relations between the two friendly countries.

He noted that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to developing parliamentary ties with Pakistan, emphasizing that parliamentary dialogue is a key component of bilateral relations.

He highlighted the role of the Parliamentary Friendship Group, which provides opportunities for exchanging legislative experience and advancing parliamentary diplomacy.

Both sides acknowledged that their bilateral relations are being successfully carried out in political, diplomatic, trade and economic, energy, transport, education, and humanitarian sectors.

The countries also reaffirmed their consistent support for international relations.
