Pakistan, Turkmenistan enhance bilateral energy collaboration

March 19, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and Turkmenistan reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and expanding energy cooperation during a meeting between Turkmenistan’s Ambassador Atadjan Movlamov and Pakistan’s Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik in Islamabad.

On this occasion, Ambassador Movlamov congratulated Ali Pervaiz Malik on his recent appointment as the Federal Minister for Petroleum.

He expressed confidence in the Minister’s leadership to drive Pakistan’s energy sector toward sustainable growth, as per the press release.

The ambassador also highlighted the deep-rooted ties between the two nations, emphasizing their shared interests, particularly in the energy sector.

Minister Malik acknowledged the historical cultural and economic ties between Pakistan and Turkmenistan, which are built on mutual respect and a shared vision for regional development.

He outlined Pakistan’s strategic efforts to enhance its energy infrastructure and attract foreign investment in the sector.

The minister also expressed Pakistan’s keen interest in further strengthening collaboration with Turkmenistan, exploring new opportunities for partnership in the energy domain.

In addition, the minister extended his best wishes for the International Conference on "International Year of Peace and Trust: Role of Inter-regional Economic Cooperation in Ensuring Sustainable Development," which is set to take place in Ashgabat.
