Pakistan to send IT firms to Saudi Arabia quarterly

February 13, 2025 (MLN): In a significant move to boost digital cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, unveiled an initiative to send five Pakistani IT and tech companies to Saudi Arabia every three months.

The initiative aims to integrate Pakistani firms into Saudi Arabia’s advanced digital ecosystem, fostering cross-border business partnerships and innovation.

The announcement came during a high-level meeting between H.E. Shaza Fatima Khawaja and Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology, H.E. Abdullah Alsawaha, where both leaders explored strategies to enhance digital cooperation.

They emphasized the role of technology in driving economic growth and underscored the importance of joint efforts in promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development, as per the press release.

Welcoming the initiative, Minister Alsawaha pledged to strengthen collaboration further, stating, “We will work to double or even triple this cooperation to ensure both countries gain maximum benefits.”

Beyond business partnerships, discussions also focused on fostering startups, advancing technology transfer, and launching capacity-building programs.

These initiatives are expected to accelerate digital growth in both countries, paving the way for economic progress and regional technological leadership.

The meeting marks a significant milestone in Pakistan-Saudi Arabia’s digital relations, setting the stage for deeper collaboration, increased investment, and greater innovation in the IT sector.
