KSE-100 went through another abysmal session after the phenomenal session yesterday. The index suffered due to profit taking wiping out all initial gains. Session witnessed a significant high in the activity.
Market was supported by Oil and Gas Exploration Companies (+78 points), Automobile Assemblers (+31 points) and Cement (+14 points). Auto sector witnessed a substantial surge in share prices after the announcement by Federal Bureau of Revenue notified of the revised Regulatory Duty on import of used vehicles.
On the contrary, sectors that pulled the index down were; Commercial Banks (-50 points), Power Generation and Distribution (-48 points), Oil and Gas Marketing Companies (-44 points), and Fertilizers (-29 points).
KSE-100 Index at the day end moved a total of -66.43 points down by 0.16%, closing at 40724.96 points. Index Volume was 81.64 million shares, value of shares traded was PKR 8.6 billion with index low-high range of 40692.09 – 41353.23.
The index traded within the 661.14 range.
38 companies closed up, whereas 54 were down at the day end.
