Pakistan shipped $1.85 bln worth of exports to USA in 5MFY22

December 21, 2021 (MLN): USA remained as the top export destination for Pakistan with $2.68billion worth of shipments in Jul-Nov FY22, against the exports of $1.85 billion in the same period of last year, showing an increase of 45% YoY, latest country-wise data issued by SBP showed.

Going by the data, China appeared as the second major destination country during the period under review wherein Pakistan exported goods worth $1 billion against the exports of $615.7 billion from July to Nov FY22, marking a growth of 65% YoY.

This was followed by UK, wherein the total exports to the country during the said period mounted by 22% YoY to $943.8 million from the exports of $773.8 million recorded in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Next in line is Germany and UAE, Pakistani exports to them pegged at $691.2 million and $689.5 million during 5MFY22 respectively. Exports to Germany depicted a jump of 12% YoY, while exports to UAE grew by 22% YoY.

Among other countries, Pakistani exports to the Netherlands during 5MFY22 stood at $554.5 million, up by 33% YoY, followed by Italy and Spain with $406.7 million and $410.1 million respectively, the data revealed.

Meanwhile, in the month of November’21 alone, Pakistan exported $585.8 million worth of goods and services to the USA which was 48% and 10% higher compared to the exports of Nov’20 and Oct’21 respectively. This was followed by China and UK with shipments worth $254.5 million (up 66% YoY, and 25% MoM) and $198.2 million (up 16% YoY and 1% MoM) respectively.
