Pakistan seeks Germany’s support for climate action plans

February 07, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan has sought technical support from Germany to develop its climate action plans and accelerate the transition to clean energy sources, according to Coordinator to the Prime Minister for Climate Change, Romina Khurshid Alam.

During a meeting with a three-member delegation from Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, led by Christiane Amari, she emphasized the need for stronger collaboration.

Romina Khurshid underscored the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation on climate change and sustainable development.

The discussions focused on ongoing and future initiatives related to environmental protection, climate adaptation, and mitigation efforts, as per the press release.

She reaffirmed the government's commitment to tackling climate challenges through the implementation of the National Climate Change Policy and the Pakistan Climate Change Act.
