Pakistan launches Buna-Raast project to streamline migrant remittances

August 22, 2024 (MLN): Pakistan’s government has launched the Buna-Rast connectivity project, which will enable migrants to transfer funds transparently and efficiently using modern technology.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif launched the Buna-Raast connectivity project in Islamabad today to streamline remittances from the Arab world to Pakistan.

The digital system is being linked directly to Buna under the Arab Monetary Fund.

“With this historical milestone, our relations with the Arab world will be established on more stable and modern lines,” the Prime Minister highlighted.

Moreover, he pointed out that it is Pakistan's first cross-border real-time payment system that will make remittances more affordable and accessible.
