May 09, 2025 (MLN): The urgent need to resume dialogue was highlighted as a path to easing rising regional tensions, with the Italian Foreign Minister conveying heartfelt condolences over the tragic loss of lives in Pakistan and calling for de-escalation efforts.

He shared these sentiments during a telephone conversation with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, in which the two discussed the evolving regional situation.

During the call, Ishaq Dar informed his Italian counterpart, Antonio Tajani, of India's deliberate act of aggression and violation of Pakistan's sovereignty through the use of standoff weapons, targeting civilian areas across the international border.

He strongly denounced the attacks, which led to the loss of innocent lives, including women and children, as per the press release.

Dar characterized India's actions as a grave breach of the UN Charter and international law, warning that such provocations have endangered regional stability and brought the two nuclear-armed neighbors dangerously close to open conflict.

Both sides agreed to remain in close contact moving forward.
