Pakistan, China strengthen bilateral relations in Beijing meeting

February 05, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan and China reaffirmed their longstanding friendship and strong bilateral ties as President Asif Ali Zardari met with Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, in Beijing.

The leaders discussed the strengthening cooperation between the two nations, emphasizing their time-tested and all-weather partnership, which has continued to grow over the decades.

They highlighted strategic mutual trust as the foundation of the China-Pakistan relationship and stressed the importance of continued high-level exchanges to further enhance practical cooperation.

Both sides also discussed the high-quality advancement of CPEC 2.0, focusing on strengthening collaboration in science and technology, renewable energy, infrastructure, and agriculture.

They hailed CPEC as a model of people-centered development, emphasizing its commitment to win-win cooperation, shared benefits, and common prosperity, according to the press release.

The two sides explored ways to enhance institutional linkages, including through parliamentary exchanges and participation in the CPEC Political Parties Joint Consultative Mechanism, to further deepen bilateral cooperation.
