Pak-Japan mull over establishing technology up-gradation fund to boost manufacturing base

February 8, 2019 (MLN): Charge d’ Affaires Embassy of Japan and Advisor to the Prime Minister on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood are considering to establishing technology upgradation fund that can be important in strengthening the manufacturing base of the country.

The two parties met at the Ministry of Commerce yesterday where they explored the option of establishing a technology upgradation fund that could be used for upgradation of textile machinery in Pakistan.

The issues pertaining to bilateral trade and investment were also discussed and Adviser to the Prime Minister emphasized on the need to improve the existing infrastructure of the fisheries sector of Pakistan including the improvement of fish harbor at Karachi.

The progress on the decisions of Pak-Japan Business Dialogue held in December 2018 in Japan was also reviewed.

In addition to that, they discussed the modalities and agenda of the upcoming session of the business dialogue.
