Overseas Pakistanis remit USD 1.75 Billion in September 2019

Oct 10, 2019 (MLN): Overseas Pakistanis remitted USD 1.75 billion in the month of September 2019 compared to USD 1.69 billion in August 2019 showing an increase of USD 57.08 million over the previous month.
According to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan the remittances increased by USD 261.48 million compared to September 2018.
The total amount remitted during July-September FY20 was USD 5.4781 billion compared to USD 5.5576 billion from the corresponding period of FY19 which showed a decrease of USD 79.49 million or 1.43 percent.
Saudi Arabia was the largest source of remittances having contributed USD 420.88 million followed by UAE with USD 363.34 million and USA providing USD 281.91 million.
