Over 16 thousand units of passenger cars sold in Dec 2018: PAMA

January 10, 2019 (MLN): The sale of passenger cars in December 2018 increased to 16,141 units from 15,334 units recorded in November (+5.2%. MoM), accounts official data released by Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA).

The document shows that the largest portion of these sales was recorded for cars with engine capacity of 1300 CC and above. Around 6,500 units of such cars were sold during the month.

In the last 6 months, above 104 thousand passenger cars have been sold, marking a negligible change from last year’s cumulative car sales for July-Dec period.

Apart from this, the truck sales have been recorded at 3,225 units whereas 546 units of buses were sold.

The largest sale figures surfaced for motorcycles and three-wheelers, marking a total sale of almost 129 thousand units in December and over 909 thousand units in the last 6 months.
