Sufficient diesel stocks available in country to meet demand: OGRA clarifies

November 8, 2022 (MLN): The Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Tuesday clarified that the news regarding limited stocks of diesel in the country is incorrect as sufficient fuel supply is available to cater the country’s demand.

“The country has an inventory of more than 400,000 MT HSD and 500,000 MT MS and imports of 250,000 tons of HSD and 364,000 tons of MS are already finalized”, OGRA spokesperson said.

It is pertinent to mention that oil sales are soaring due to the ongoing agriculture season and the accelerating pace of infrastructure rehabilitation in flood-damaged areas.

Thus, Oil Companies Advisory Council (OCAC), OGRA, and the Oil Industry are reviewing the sales and closely monitoring them on a day-to-day basis.

Despite the challenges faced by the country due to Russia Ukraine conflict and global market volatility since Feb’22, the oil industry has successfully met the fuel demand of the country.
