January 23, 2025 (MLN): Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (PSX: OGDC) has enhanced oil production from the Kunnar-12 well, located in the District of Hyderabad, Sindh.

The well is part of the Kunnar Oil Field, which is fully operated by OGDCL, holding a 100% working interest in the Kunnar Mining Lease Area.

After reassessing the well's potential through production optimization, OGDCL deployed a rig to replace the conventional Jet Pump with an Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP), the company's filing on PSX revealed today.

These efforts resulted in an increase in production at Kunnar Well-12 from 1,060 barrels per day (BPD) to 1,820 BPD, marking an increase of 760 BPD.

The Kunnar-6 well, which was previously shut-in due to high water production and low oil recovery, has been successfully revived through a comprehensive plan.

A series of rigless interventions in the Lower Goru Upper Sand, along with re-completion using an artificial lift system (ESP), have optimized its performance.

As a result, Kunnar-6 is now producing 400 barrels per day (BPD) of oil.

These interventions have led to an increase of 1,160 barrels per day (BPD) in production from the Kunnar Oil Field.

This achievement underscores OGDCL's technical expertise, innovative strategies, and commitment to maximizing production from its assets, reinforcing its role as a key contributor to the nation's energy security.
