North region observes price hike in cement, steel

November 1, 2021 (MLN): Amid rising international coal prices and currency depreciation, Cement manufacturers have increased the cement prices in the North region by Rs20 per bag.

The current prices in the North and South regions are Rs730 per bag and Rs750 per bag, respectively.

Taking to the official Twitter account, Topline Securities said, “Our channel check suggests that a similar hike is expected in the South region.”

Recently, Lucky Cement Limited had notified on October 15, 2021, to increase the price for all institutional customers by increasing Rs30 per bag on offered price.

Similarly, the long steel industry in the North region has raised rebar prices by Rs5k/ton on the back of surging input costs. The new price of rebars in the North is Rs186-188k/ton.

In a series of Tweets, Topline securities noted, “The price hike in the South region is also on the cards.”
