January 30, 2025 (MLN): To boost productivity, improve activities, and enhance public service delivery, the sub-committee presented proposals to the committee after thorough consultations and analysis of key departments' work and policy impact.

This information was highlighted in a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Rightsizing of the Federal Government, held today at the Finance Division and chaired by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb.

The meeting centered on the subcommittee's recommendations, led by Mr. Salman Ahmad, Ambassador at Large, concerning the restructuring of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and the National Heritage & Culture Division.

The sub-committee's report also presented several recommendations, including potential mergers, the transfer of functions, third-party audits, and the establishment of clear timelines for achieving self-sustainability.

These measures are designed to create leaner, more efficient organizational structures within the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and the National Heritage & Culture Division, aligning with the government's commitment to rightsizing.

During the meeting, the proposals were discussed in detail, taking into account the feedback from both the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and the National Heritage & Culture Division.

The committee members and senior officers from the relevant ministries participated actively in the discussions, according to the press release issued today.

The final recommendations of the Cabinet Committee on Rightsizing will be firmed up shortly and submitted to the Federal Cabinet for approval.
