May 01, 2024 (MLN): The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has finally withdrawn its Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) Terminal reference against former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi. With this withdrawal of the LNG reference, Engro Corporation and its Chairman Hussain Dawood also proved to be innocent.

This decision came during the hearing of the LNG reference presided by Judge Nasir Javed Rana of the accountability court.

Mr Hussain Dawood faced the worst kind of politically motivated media trial in the last few years after his company set up the country’s first-ever LNG terminal, according to the statement.

The terminal paved the way for a long-term deal with Qatar and also the second LNG terminal helping Pakistan and its economy in the most critical times of its history.

The LNG Terminal in question is an essential part of Pakistan’s energy infrastructure as it supplies 15% of Pakistan’s total gas requirement, which is a critical industrial and domestic input, to a growing country.

Engro remains committed to the progress and well-being of Pakistan by striving to solve some of the country’s most pressing issues.
