NA to highlight the Reco Deck case in its meeting today

August 1, 2019 (MLN): The meeting of the National Assembly is scheduled to take place on August 1, 2019, i.e. today, wherein various members of the assembly will put forth their recommendations regarding different aspects of Pakistani laws.

Amongst the many agendas that are to be discussed during the meeting, the concerned members will introduce a Bill to further amend the Chemical Fertilizers (Development Surcharge) Act, 1973.

Furthermore, the matter of $5.976 billion penalty against Pakistan in the Reco Deck case by the International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes will be brought to the attention of Minister for Energy.

The Bill to further amend the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan [The Constitution (Amendment) Bill, 2019] (Article 239) will also be proposed.

The proposal to further amend the Anti-Dumping Duties Act, 2015 is also on cards.
