LSMI output rises 1% in 11MFY24

July 18, 2024 (MLN): Pakistan’s Large-scale Scale Manufacturing Industries (LSMI) output increased by 0.99% in the first eleven months of fiscal year 2023-24, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported today.

Meanwhile, in May alone, the LSMI output jumped 7.33% YoY compared to May 2023 and 7.52% MoM compared to April 2024.

The provisional quantum indices of LSMI stood at 113.90 for May 2024 and 116.48 for 11MFY24 with base year 2015-16.

The production in July-May 2023-24 as compared to July-May 2022-23 has increased in Food, Wearing apparel, Coke & Petroleum Products, Chemicals, Fertilizers, Pharmaceuticals, Machinery and Equipment and Furniture.

While it decreased in Tobacco, Textile, Paper & Board, Non Metallic Mineral Products, Iron & Steel Products, Electrical Equipment, Automobiles and Other Transport Equipment.
