Lack of communication blamed for delayed results processing

February 09, 2024 (MLN): The late processing of the results is attributed to a lack of communication which was the result of precautions taken to ensure a foolproof security situation, according to a press release issued today.

This response follows a review conducted due to rising concerns in media and public regarding the delayed processing of election results by the respective Returning Officers (ROs).

The protocols, for ensuring safe custody of both personnel and ballots, are elaborate which consumed significant time.

The situation is now satisfactory and results are expected to be flowing in continuously.
