KSE-100 hits 100,000 mark

November 28, 2024 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 index wasted no time making history today as right after the market opening, the index surged swiftly to the monumental 100,000 mark.

This aggressive buying followed yesterday's rally as signs of easing protests helped calm fears over political uncertainty.

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were BOP (+11.34%), MEHT (+8.81%), SRVI (+6.40%), KEL (+5.83%), and HBL (+5.61%).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were MEBL (-1.48%), MUGHAL (-1.28%), JDWS (-1.17%), FFC (-0.63%), and NBP (-0.44%).

The benchmark KSE-100 index yesterday's green session at 99,269.25, posting a remarkable 4.94% gain, marking its highest daily gain in nearly 16 months.

In terms of index points, the index surged 4,695.09 points, recording its highest DoD points gain in history.
