August 8, 2019 (MLN): KSE-100 has lost nearly 409 points during the early hours of the session and has fallen below the 30,000-mark to 29,868 points. So far the index has touched an intra-day low of 29,842 points.

The market performance is heavily being influenced by the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, which reached a new high yesterday after Pakistan downgraded diplomatic ties and suspended trade with India.

Sector wise, Commercial Banks have lost the maximum points so far, followed by Power generation and E&P companies. The cumulative loss of these sectors amounts to nearly 300 points.

The last time index stooped this low was back in March 2015.
