KIA Lucky Motors to work double shift as demand for Sportage, Picanto rises

September 9, 2020 (MLN): KIA Lucky Motors will be working on a double shift, starting January 2021, owing to the increase in demand for Sportage and Picanto.

‘After the commencement of KIA Lucky Motors, the Company has received overwhelming response from the consumers for both of its models i.e. Sportage and Picanto. The order intake has increased multifold and currently the Company is planning to start the second shift to meet the customer demand from January 1, 2021’ Lucky Cement said in its annual report.

Commenting on the same, Mr. Shankar Talreja of Topline Securities stated that the increase in demand for Picanto and Sportage was due to lower prices, recent cut in car loan rates and improving farmer economics.

KIA is also gearing up for the launch of Cerato, which is likely to see the light of the day by the end of this year. As per some media reports, KIA Cerato, the price of which is likely to be within the range of Rs. 3 to 3.7 million, will give tough competition to the likes of Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla.
