Kenya to be the new avenue for Pakistani exporters

January 30, 2020: Opening of Kenya as the new market in offing as their government has shown keen interest in importing Mango and Citrus.

This was said by Waheed Ahmed, Patron in Chief of All Pakistan Fruit & Vegetable Exporters, Importers & MERCHANT Association from Kenya who is visiting capital Nairobi and holding talks with companies interested in doing business with Pakistan.

Waheed Ahmad said that several countries have already been exporting citrus fruit to Kenya. “We have held several meetings with the government officials in Kenya, convincing them about the varieties Pakistan hold for Mango and citrus”, he said.

They have done the homework about the Pakistani market, and hopeful that Kenya would be the new frontier to explore and would be a new avenue for Pakistani exporters.

Waheed further said we have offered technical assistance to Kenya especially hot water treatment plant for Mango. It would be a big breakthrough for Pakistan and our exporters' community that we can provide technical assistance in the field fruit sector.

He also discussed the ways and means about Plant protection and quarantine system of Kenya.

He also said when Pakistani exporters could also tap other adjoining countries which are land lock countries through Nairobi and Kenya could play a pivotal role in becoming of the hub of our products to African countries.

Waheed Ahmed also presented a memento to the Esther Kimani, Managing Director of Kenya's Plant Health Inspectorate Service on the occasion of Pakistan Africa Trade Conference held in Nairobi and also met Issac Macharia, General Manager of Inspectorate.
