K-Electric reviews NEPRA decision, may pursue remedies

May 26, 2025 (MLN): K-Electric Limited (PSX: KEL) has evaluated the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority’s (NEPRA) decision in detail and will exercise available remedies, if necessary, in accordance with statutory provisions.

NEPRA has approved the Multi Year Tariff (MYT) for KEL’s Transmission and Distribution Network segments for the period from FY24 to FY30.

The approval followed KEL’s submission of the MYT application on December 27, 2023, in line with Rule 3(1) of NEPRA (Tariff Standards and Procedure) Rules, 1998, after the Investment Plan for the MYT period was approved.

Meanwhile, the MYT for the Supply segment and the Motion for Review of the approved Investment Plan remain under NEPRA’s determination, the notification issued to the local bourse.

These are fundamental for the preparation of financial statements for the period after June 30, 2023.

KEL has stated that the Pakistan Stock Exchange will be informed accordingly once NEPRA approves the pending tariff petition and Motion for Review.
