February 19, 2025 (MLN): Global mobility and urban services platform inDrive recorded a 26% year-on-year (YoY) increase in rides and a 25% rise in active users in Pakistan in 2024, attributing its success to its ‘fair price’ model.
As the second most downloaded ride-hailing app globally, inDrive operates in 888 cities across 48 countries and continues to expand its footprint in Pakistan.
Since its launch in 2021, the platform has grown rapidly, offering ride-hailing services in 20 cities and intercity travel across 200 cities in three provinces.
Awais Saeed, inDrive’s Country Lead Pakistan, emphasized the company’s commitment to empowering both passengers and drivers through its bid-based pricing model, which allows users to negotiate fares directly.
This transparent and inclusive approach has positioned inDrive as a preferred choice in Pakistan’s competitive ride-hailing market.
Beyond mobility, inDrive is evolving into a full-scale urban services platform by launching courier and freight services in Pakistan.
The courier service has significantly benefited small businesses, especially during peak seasons, with a twofold surge in deliveries in February last year.
Highlighting long-term commitments, Awais stated that Pakistan remains a strategic market for inDrive’s global expansion, according to the press release.
The company is working to introduce premium ride-hailing services, including Business class, while also exploring electric vehicle (EV) rides in alignment with global sustainability trends.
On the investment front, inDrive made a strategic investment in Krave Mart in December last year as part of its $100 million global venture capital initiative to support startups in emerging markets.
However, Awais reiterated that the company’s primary focus remains on enhancing mobility services and creating a lasting economic impact in Pakistan.
As part of its mission to challenge injustice and impact 1 billion lives by 2030, inDrive has actively contributed to social initiatives in Pakistan.
The company donated Rs10mn to the Akhuwat Foundation for the reconstruction of schools in Thatta and Thar, which were severely affected by the 2022 floods.
Additionally, through its Rozgar initiative, inDrive invested Rs7.5mn to establish 100 Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in partnership with HANDS Pakistan, aimed at fostering sustainable livelihoods.
Furthering its commitment to youth empowerment through sports, inDrive organized the ‘Ride to Donate’ (RTD) project last year, which focused on improving school sports facilities in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.
As part of its global project ‘YourPace’, the company also launched three sports facilities in Karachi and Islamabad, benefiting over 5,000 children.
Awais also announced the launch of another Ride to Donate initiative during Ramadan, aimed at building sports facilities in underprivileged schools.
Expanding into Pakistan’s tech sector, inDrive is establishing an IT development initiative in Lahore, engaging local tech talent to support its global operations.
This initiative aims to enhance the company’s technological capabilities while creating employment opportunities for Pakistani professionals.
With continued expansion, new services, and strategic partnerships, inDrive is shaping the future of mobility and urban services in Pakistan, setting new industry benchmarks and driving positive change.
