April 16, 2020 (MLN): Today, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) will approve $1.4 billion for Pakistan over a single year to meet urgent Balance of Payment needs through Rapid Financing Instrument to confront the COVID-19 shock.

Advisor on Finance to PM, Dr. Hafeez Shaikh said to media that this emergency funding will help the government to help combat COVID-19 and to address support policies that would help daily wage earners, lower-income groups and the healthcare system.
