IMF rejects India’s request on Pakistan loans

May 03, 2025 (MLN): The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has not entertained India’s request to revisit Pakistan’s loan arrangements.

According to IMF representative Mahir Binici, the lender’s Executive Board is already set to convene on May 9.

Binici confirmed that the board meeting will present the first review of Pakistan’s current loan program, as per the press release.

Additionally, Pakistan’s proposal for a new climate financing program is also on the agenda for consideration.
