IMF board meeting set for January 11 for second loan tranche

January 02, 2024 (MLN): Pakistan has been included in the International Monetary Fund (IMF)'s meeting agenda for January 11, 2024, as per the IMF’s executive board calendar released.

During this meeting, the IMF is expected to approve the second tranche of $700 million under the current loan program.

To note, the IMF staff and the Pakistani authorities reached a staff-level agreement on November 15, on the first review under Pakistan’s SBA, subject to approval by the IMF’s Executive Board. 

Upon successful approval, the total disbursements under the program will reach almost $1.9 billion.
