January 31, 2025 (MLN): IJARA Capital Partners Limited (ICPL)-led consortium has successfully concluded the acquisition of Searle Pakistan Private Limited (SPL), previously named OBS Pakistan), formerly a subsidiary of the publicly listed The Searle Company Limited (SEARL).

This acquisition will help reduce the debt of The Searle Company Limited.

Following the deal, Dr. Ali Afzal has been appointed as the new CEO of Searl Pakistan who brought extensive industry experience to drive the company’s strategic direction.

To recall, on July 31, 2024, The Searle Company Limited's Board of Directors decided to sell its entire shareholding in Searle Pakistan, amounting to approximately 90.61% of SPL's issued and paid-up share capital.

Ijarah-led consortium includes IJARA Capital Partners Limited (ICPL) through its Private Equity & Venture Capital Fund.
