Hong Kong, March 5 (AFP/APP): Hong Kong stocks suffered another sharp loss on Monday, extending last week's sell-off as dealers fear Donald Trump's steel and aluminium tariffs could spark a global trade war.

The Hang Seng Index fell 2.28 percent, or 697.06 points, to end at 29,886.39.

But the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index inched up 0.07 percent, or 2.40 points, to 3,256.93, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, rose 0.47 percent, or 8.63 points, to 1830.84.
