Hong Kong shares ended the morning session in positive territory on Monday, tracking gains following a surge across Wall Street that came on the back of below-par jobs data that tempered expectations for a sharp rise in US interest rates, with energy firms rallying with oil prices.

The Hang Seng Index rose 0.51 percent, or 151.13 points, to 30,077.63 by the break.
