Holiday declared in Karachi on Tuesday

April 21, 2024 (MLN): To facilitate a smooth and secure visit for the upcoming high-level foreign delegation, Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi announced a public holiday in the bustling port city on April 23 (Tuesday), according to a notification today.
The decision mandates the closure of all public and private offices and educational institutions across the Karachi division.
While the notification didn't explicitly mention the reason behind the holiday, it is likely due to the impending visit of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to Pakistan.
Scheduled from April 22 to April 24, President Raisi's visit is expected to involve engagements with provincial leadership in Karachi and Lahore, as confirmed by the Foreign Office.
