Govt takes fresh loan of $764 mln

November 29, 2018 (MLN): The new government has taken fresh loan amounting to $764 million.

According to the Economic Affairs Division, during July-October, fresh borrowing stood at around $1.584 billion, which was around $820 million during July- August.

New government’s fresh borrowing from China amounted to $232 million, while borrowing from commercial banks amounted to $329 million.

Moreover, borrowing from Islamic Development Bank amounted to $72 million.

In FY19, the government is expected to borrow nearly $9.691 billion.
