Govt. reappoints Mr. Jameel Ahmed as Deputy Governor SBP

October 25, 2018 (MLN): The government has decided to restore Mr. Jameel Ahmed as Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), for a period of three years with effect from the date he assumes office.

Mr. Jameel Ahmed was appointed as Deputy Governor by the Federal Government on April 11, 2017 for a period of three years. However, earlier this month, on October 4, 2018 he was dismissed from his position.

Mr. Jameel has been associated with SBP since 1991. Prior to his appointment as Deputy Governor, he was serving as Executive Director, Banking Supervision Group and Financial Stability.
