Govt reaffirms commitment to sustainable economic growth

May 21, 2025 (MLN): The government reaffirmed its strong commitment to sustainable, productivity-driven, and export-led growth during a meeting held at the Finance Division in Islamabad.

This commitment was reiterated by the Finance Ministry during discussions between Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, and H.E. Mrs. Henny de Vries, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Pakistan.

Both sides discussed Pakistan’s macroeconomic outlook, ongoing reform agenda, and opportunities to deepen bilateral economic cooperation.

The Finance Minister briefed the Ambassador on key sectors of the economy and acknowledged the Netherlands’ valuable technical and financial support in development and capacity-building initiatives.

Senator Aurangzeb also welcomed the continued interest and investment by Dutch companies in Pakistan, as per the per release issued today.

In response, Ambassador de Vries appreciated the government’s macroeconomic reforms and export-focused policies, reiterating the Netherlands’ commitment to supporting Pakistan’s economic progress and enhancing cooperation across multiple sectors.

The meeting concluded with both parties emphasizing the importance of strengthening Pakistan-Netherlands relations and continuing collaboration on areas of shared interest.
