March 15, 2025 (MLN):  The federal government has decided to keep petroleum product prices unchanged for the next fortnight while working on a plan to cut electricity tariffs to pass on the benefits of global oil price fluctuations to the public.

Accordingly, the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) remains at Rs258.64 per litre, while petrol (MS) continues at Rs255.63 per litre. Meanwhile, Superior Kerosene Oil is priced at Rs168.12 per litre, and Light Diesel Oil (LDO) stands at Rs153.34 per litre.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has assured the business community that the government is working on a comprehensive strategy to reduce electricity prices.

The administration plans to boost tax collection from petroleum products and divert funds towards lowering power tariffs to ease the financial burden on consumers.

The PM Office stated that details of the electricity relief package are being finalized, and the move is part of broader economic measures aimed at stabilizing energy costs for businesses and households.
