Govt hikes petrol price by Rs13.55 per litre

February 01, 2024 (MLN): Due to the substantial rise in global oil prices, the government has raised the price of petrol by Rs13.55 per litre to Rs272.89, said a notification issued by the Finance Division.
Similarly, the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has been increased by Rs2.5 per litre to Rs278.96.
The said prices are effective for the first half of February and are based upon the recommendations of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
To recall, in the last fortnight, the government reduced the petrol price by Rs8 per litre to Rs259.34, while the price of diesel was kept unchanged at Rs276.21.
