Govt formulating Strategic Trade Policy Framework for next 5 years: President

March 6, 2019: President Dr. Arif Alvi has underscored the need for value-addition in all sectors, especially in textile, for increasing Pakistan's exports in international market.

Talking to a delegation of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association in Islamabad on Wednesday, he said increasing the exports and reducing trade deficit is an important component of the present government's strategy.

The President said the government is committed to improve economic structure of the country and reduce the cost of doing business.

He said government has rationalized the prices of gas, RLNG and electricity for zero-rated export oriented sectors.

The APTMA delegation informed the President that it has set the target of doubling Pakistan's textile export in the next five years.
