Govt constitutes Capital Market Advisory Council

November 03, 2023 (MLN): In a bid to improve the efficiency of the capital market, the government on Friday constituted a committee of the Capital Market Advisory Council.

Since the capital market has the potential to enhance risk-sharing and the efficiency of capital allocation to the real economy, this, in turn, will help stimulate economic growth and development.

The eight-member council will comprise Dr. Shamshad Akhtar Minister of Finance, Jamil Ahmed SBP governor, Akif Saeed Chairman SECP and Additional Secretary of Finance.

In addition, Mr Muhammad Ali, Mr Farrukh H. Sabzwari, Mr Aftab Ahmad Chaudhry and Mr Asif Ali Qureshi, CFA have been opted as members of the council.

Chairman SECP will continue to work as Secretary of the Council with SECP Head office as Secretariat of the council.
