Government cuts rate of profit on national savings scheme

January 2, 2020 (MLN): Government of Pakistan has further reduced the rate of profit on national savings scheme.

The rate on defense savings has been cut by 28 basis points to 10.40 percent, behbood and pension by 24 bps to 12.24 percent, regular income certificate cut 36 bps to 10.56 percent, whereas rate on special savings has been kept unchanged at 11 percent.

On the other hand, the profit rate on savings account has been increased by 40 bps to 8.60 percent.
