Gold prices climb Rs1,000, hitting Rs309,000 per tola

February 20, 2025 (MLN): Gold prices in Pakistan surged to a new high on Thursday, with 24-karat gold reaching Rs309,000 per tola, marking a Rs1,000 increase.

Similarly, 24-karat gold per 10-gram was sold at Rs264,917 after a gain of Rs857, according to rates shared by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewelers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).

The price of 22-karat gold was also quoted higher at Rs242,849 per 10-gram.

Similarly, silver prices rose in the domestic market, with 24-karat silver being sold at Rs3,468 per tola (+Rs28) and Rs2,973 per 10-gram (+Rs24).

Globally, spot gold traded near $2,952 an ounce, up $16.6 or 0.57% from the previous session.

Gold prices rose to an all-time high and to trade above the $2,950 per ounce level on Thursday, as concerns U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff threats will unleash a global trade war drove investor appetite for the metal.
