Gold price rises by 2.4% to Rs 122,300 per tola

August 18, 2020 (MLN): The yellow precious metal continued its upward trend today as investors added more gold into their portfolios. The 24 Karat- Gold rose by around 2.4% to stand at Rs 122,300 per tola in bullion markets. The precious yellow metal of 24-Karat had closed at Rs 119,400 per tola on the last day.

According to the data released by the All Sindh Saraf Jewellers Association, the price of 10-gram gold also witnessed an increase of Rs 2,487 to settle at Rs 104,853 against the previous close of Rs 102,366 per-gram.

On a similar note, the silver prices edged higher by Rs 60 to Rs 1,530 per tola after a stable previous session. Likewise, the price of 10-gram silver was recorded at Rs 1,311.72, up by Rs 51.44 compared to yesterday’s close of Rs 1,260.28.

In the international market, gold price reached $2005 an ounce as the dollar slid that weighed on bond yields, lifting the safe-haven prices while silver surged to $28.23 per ounce.
