November 06, 2024 (MLN): Gold price in Pakistan decreased on Wednesday, with 24-karat gold being sold at Rs282,200 per tola, down Rs1,000.

Globally, spot gold slipped and the US dollar surged after Donald Trump won the US presidential election.

The precious metal traded near $2,704 an ounce, down $41.1 or 1.50% from the previous session.

Bullion had been widely expected to rally if a Trump win was looking likely, but that appears to have been canceled out by gains in the dollar, which make the precious metal more expensive for many buyers, Bloomberg reported.

The Karachi Sarafa Association reported the price of 24-karat gold at Rs241,941 per 10-gram, down Rs857.

On the other hand, silver prices remained unchanged in the domestic market, with 24-karat silver being sold at Rs3,430 per tola and Rs2,941 per 10-gram.
