Funds remitted through Roshan Digital Account crossed USD200 million

December 24, 2020 (MLN): Funds remitted through Roshan Digital Accounts are accelerating and crossed USD200 million.

This was informed by State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) via its official Twitter handle on Thursday, adding that since its launch 3 months ago, 59.7k accounts have been opened by Overseas Pakistanis in 91 countries. Last $100 million came in just 28 days.

Prime Minister PM Imran Khan also lauded the Pakistani expats for their tremendous response on “Roshan Digital Account” stating that the deposit amount in the accounts touched the USD200 million mark yesterday. The pace is accelerating as first USD100 million came in 76 days and the next USD100 million came in only 28 days, he added.

On December 9, 2020, Roshan Digital Account received its highest-ever single day remittance of USD 7.70 million since the initiative was taken.
