Foreigners pull out $1.86 billion from bond market since July’19

March 20, 2020 (MLN): Risk-averse foreigners are more prone to hedge their investment from Pakistan's bond market as they withdrew $600 million from government bonds on March 18, 2020. As a result of this, total investment in government bonds stood at $1.34 billion till March 18, 2020.
According to SCRA numbers published by the SBP, foreigners pulled out $1.30 billion from bond markets in the month of March alone.
Cumulatively, the total divestment from bond markets from July 18, 2019 to March 18, 2020 were recorded at $1.86 billion.
