Foreign investors dump Rs460m worth of securities

September 03, 2024 (MLN): The net sale of securities for the week ended August 23, 2024 clocked in at Rs459.92m, as compared to a net purchase worth Rs536.37m recorded last week, according to a weekly report on Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) released by the State Bank of Pakistan.

During the week, the gross sale of securities was recorded at Rs16.71bn, which is around 125.73% higher than the figures recorded last week.

Similarly, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs16.25bn, which is 104.69% higher than the prior week, resulting in a net sale of Rs459.92m for the week.

Over the week, the overall purchase of securities increased by Rs8.31bn while the net sale of securities increased by Rs9.31bn.

Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs12.16bn, while its outflow has been reported at Rs7.25bn.

The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs31.2bn, which marks a rise of Rs5.44bn over the week.
