Foreign investors dump Rs 20 billion worth of securities via SCRA over the week

June 03, 2020 (MLN): Foreign Investors dumped around Rs. 20 billion worth of securities via Specially Convertible Rupee Accounts (SCRA) during the week ended May 22, 2020, which is around 60.5 percent higher than the figures recorded last week.

According to a weekly report on SCRA released by the State Bank of Pakistan, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs.12.8 billion, which is 22.1 percent higher than the prior week.

Consequently, the net sale of securities for the week ended May 22, 2020 clocked in at Rs.7.11 billion, i.e. around Rs.5.2 billion lower than last week's numbers.

Over the week, the overall purchase of securities rose by Rs.2.33 billion while the net sale of securities increased by Rs.7.52 billion.

Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs.2.53 billion, while its outflow has been reported at Rs.10.64 billion.

The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs.30.29 billion, which marks a decline of Rs.764.23 million over the week.
